The chassis is honest.

Original steel on top. Everything else, new.We keep the body, the badge-less lines, the shape you fell for. Underneath it, a modern chassis, brakes, suspension and an engine that starts in the rain. Twelve cars a year.

The open engine bay, seen low and close, under tungsten light

Modern underneath. Original on top.

The point isn't to make an old car look new. It's to make an old car stop, steer and start like a new one, and look exactly as it did. If you can tell from outside, we've failed.

The build

Eighteen months. Four stages.

Every car is photographed every Friday and the album is yours. You'll see the ugly weeks. There are a few.

Months 1–3Strip

Down to bare steel on a rotisserie. Every panel measured against the factory drawing. What's rotten is cut out and shown to you, in a box, before anything is welded.

Months 4–8Chassis

A new frame under the original shell, built on a jig to the shell's own measurements, not the drawing's. Suspension geometry set here, once, properly.

Months 9–14Drivetrain and body

Engine, box, brakes, wiring, then the shell metal-finished and painted in the original colour, or the one you wish it had been.

Months 15–18Trim, test, hand over

Interior to the original pattern. A thousand miles of shakedown with us driving. Then a day with you in the seat before you take it.

Donors

Three shapes we build.

We don't name makers on this page and we don't put badges back on the cars. If you know, you know. If you don't, it's a very good-looking old coupé.

The coupé1966–1972
Two doors, a long bonnet, a fastback. The one everyone means. We source them; you don't need to bring one.
The estate1970–1978
Five doors and a loadbay. Slower to find, quicker to love. Same chassis, same engine, a dog in the back.
The saloon1962–1970
Four doors, chrome bumpers, a bench front seat if you want it. The quietest of the three, in every sense.
Your carAny of the above
If it's yours already, we'll build from it, keep every bit we can, and tell you honestly what can't be saved.
