Serious rooms, not decorated ones.

No cartoon walls, no primary-colour plastic, nothing that says "this is for children" from the doorway. A child can tell it's for them from the chair. Everyone else can tell from the quiet.

Outside, alwaysGarden, rain or not. Boots at the door at ninety centimetres. Nobody dressed by an adult who can dress themselves.

Lunch, at the small tableCooked here, served by the children, eaten at forty-six centimetres with real cutlery.

Rest, then the afternoonLights low, not off. Then more choosing, more garden, and a story at four under the tall ceiling.
